Source column shows who carries the code as active today. Last checked is the date we last opened those sources and looked — it is the same date on every row because the whole list is gone through in one pass. It is not a claim that a source confirmed the code that day. Both sources were opened on 25 Sep 2026. Nothing here was tested by redeeming it ourselves, so a code can still fail for reasons we cannot see from outside the game.

Why the code you saw in a thread is already dead

Two different things kill a Star Rail code, and they look identical from the outside. One is the clock. The other is other players.

Livestream codes live for about a day

The codes handed out during a version Special Program are the ones people search for, and they are the ones that vanish fastest. A player asking about exactly this, in the community thread we track, put it this way:

“Is there a reason why the livestream codes only work for 24 hours? I didn't log in to the game as soon as I finished watching the version 4.5 special program, and when I remembered…”

The answers in that thread agree on the reason: the short window is the incentive to watch the stream live. One reply notes that the window used to be shorter still — around 18 hours — so a full day is the generous version of this. That is the whole trick: a livestream code is not a code you keep, it is a code you spend that evening.

Shared codes are claimed by bots within minutes

The second killer is usage limits. When a code is posted publicly, it does not sit there waiting for you. From the same community threads:

“Never actually share codes in the description of the post, there constantly bots scraping Reddit for any codes and they instantly become unavailable… Before anyone else tries, they have already been used by someone else.”

This is why a code can be listed as active by every page you check and still refuse you. It has not expired — it has run out. Nothing on our list can see that from outside, and no code page can either, which is why we date every row instead of promising anything.

Three of the codes posted as “New Code” in the thread we follow between August and September 2026 are already in the expired pile below. That is not unusual. It is the normal lifespan of this kind of code.

How to redeem Honkai Star Rail codes

There are two routes, and only two. Which one you can use depends on where you play, not on which code you have.

Route 1 — the official redemption website

1. Open the Honkai: Star Rail redemption page at hsr.hoyoverse.com/gift.
2. Sign in with the HoYoverse account your game is bound to.
3. Pick the server your character is on. A code entered on the wrong server will not reach your account.
4. Paste the code — no leading or trailing space, and no space from the copy button on the page you found it on.
5. Submit, then open the in-game Mail and claim the reward. It does not land in your inventory by itself.

This route is for the Global servers. If you play on the Chinese server, use the in-game route below.

Route 2 — in the game, from the menu

1. Launch the game and open the menu with the phone icon.
2. Open your profile settings — the “…” next to your namecard.
3. Choose Redemption Code.
4. Type or paste the code and confirm.
5. Claim the reward from the in-game Mail.

Two caveats worth knowing before you hunt for a menu that is not there. The in-game route is not available on iOS, so on iPhone and iPad the website is the only way in. And the Mail feature itself unlocks after you complete A Moment of Peace — until then a redeemed reward has nowhere to arrive.

The fastest route, if all you have is a minute

Because the window is short, speed matters more here than in most games. The community consensus in the threads we track is not the website — it is the official companion app:

• Redemption from the companion app takes under a minute, and the rewards wait in the in-game Mail until you next log in.
• You do not need to open the game to redeem. That is the point — you can do it while you are doing something else.
• Pinned community threads collect the codes as they drop. Several players say the app is the only reason they keep it installed.

That is the opinion of the players in those threads, not a published instruction from the developer. We are reporting what they say, because it is the answer to the question this page exists for.

A practical version of it: when a version Special Program airs, redeem before you close the stream tab. Waiting until the weekend is the single most common way people lose a livestream code.

Expired Honkai Star Rail codes

We keep expired codes instead of deleting them, because you may want to check whether you already claimed one, and because a code that reads “expired” on one page is often still printed as active on a page that was never updated. Where a source does not state the exact expiry date, we say so rather than guess.

The three codes with no stated date are the ones people are most likely to still be trying. All three were posted publicly as new codes in August and September 2026, and all three are carried as expired now. We have not listed the larger historical archive that both sources keep — a wall of long-dead codes is not a useful page, and it would push the working ones off the first screen.

How we set a code's status

• Working — at least one source on our list carries the code as active, and none carries it as expired.
• Not verified yet — no source on the list carries it, or two of them disagree.
• Expired — a source on the list carries it as expired, and none carries it as active.

Our source list is fixed: the developer's own announcements and community channels, the in-game redemption menu, and the code pages currently ranking in front of us for this search. Nothing outside that list counts. On this page the two readable sources today were pockettactics.com and the community wiki's Redemption Code entry, both opened on 25 Sep 2026. Where they disagree, the row says so instead of picking a side.
