Genshin Impact Livestream Codes

What the official Special Program announces · what HoYoverse never states · checked

HoYoverse's own announcement for a Special Program says the stream will “drop” redemption codes. It does not publish the codes there, and it does not state when they expire. Below: the one official statement, the three different expiry windows guide sites give for the same batch, and the two numbers one of those sites prints that do not agree with each other — both kept, and the arithmetic shown. Where nothing official exists, this page says so instead of inventing a date.

Where livestream codes come from, and the one thing that is official

A Genshin Impact livestream code is a one-time redeem code dropped during a version Special Program broadcast. That much is official: HoYoverse's own Special Program announcement states the stream “will also ‘drop’ some redemption codes and other goodies.” The announcement does not list the codes and does not give an expiry — so any exact expiry you see on a guide site came from that site, not from HoYoverse.

The short answer to “how long do livestream codes last?” is therefore: HoYoverse publishes no window. Three sites we opened for the same recent batch give three different answers — 48 hours, within a day, and a specific clock time that works out to about 88 hours. The section below lays those out side by side with the exact words each site used.

Question The honest answer Where that comes from
Does HoYoverse publish livestream codes on the official site? No. The official Special Program announcement only says the stream will “drop” some codes. The codes themselves appear during the broadcast. HoYoverse news post 166004 (posted 7 Sep 2026)
How long do they last? Not stated officially. No expiry is published. Guide sites give different windows that do not agree — see the comparison below. Official post states none; three third-party windows compared below
Can you still redeem an older batch? Only if that batch's window has not closed. For the most recent batch, one site that carries the codes lists all three with no expiry statement at all, while another files the same three under “already expired”. Codes traced in the table further down; both sites named there

This page is not a live code list. The current redeem codes, each with its status and source, are on the main Genshin Impact code table. This page is the answer to the livestream question specifically — what a livestream code is, when the stream drops them, and why the expiry numbers you find do not match.

1. The official statement, quoted exactly

This is the whole of what HoYoverse said about codes in its Special Program announcement. It is quoted in full because the interesting part is what it does not say.

“The special program for Genshin Impact's new version will premiere on the official Twitch and YouTube channels on 09/12/2026 at 08:00 AM (UTC-4)!”

“This special program will feature juicy details about new game content and developments in Version 7.1. It will also ‘drop’ some redemption codes and other goodies!”

— HoYoverse, Genshin Impact Version 7.1 Special Program Preview, posted 7 Sep 2026. Read 12 Oct 2026.

Two facts are official here and nothing else is: the start time of the broadcast, and the promise that codes will be dropped. There is no expiry, no code list, and no window in the official text. Every guide that prints “codes expire in 24 hours” or “within 48 hours” is reporting its own finding, not HoYoverse's rule.

2. The same site, two numbers, and neither matches the official clock

One large guide site published both a headline window and a clock time for the same batch. Those two do not agree with each other, and neither agrees with the official broadcast start. Both are printed here exactly as that site wrote them, and the arithmetic is shown so you can see the gap rather than be told about it.

What the site says in prose: “others, like the 7.1 livestream codes, will only work for 48 hours (and are limited) before they expire.”

What the same site says a few lines later: “Keep in mind you only had until 5am (UK), 6am (Europe) or 12am (US East Coast) on Wednesday 16th September to redeem the above codes. If you live on the US West Coast, they expired at 9pm on Tuesday 15th September.”

— a major games guide site, in the livestream section of its Genshin Impact codes page, read 12 Oct 2026. Quoted verbatim.

The arithmetic the two numbers imply — worked out, not asserted:
Official stream start (from HoYoverse 166004): 12 Sep 2026, 08:00 AM (UTC-4)
The site's own expiry clock: 16 Sep 2026, 05:00 AM (UK, BST = UTC+1)

Elapsed time, official start -> the site's "5am UK":
  12 Sep 08:00 UTC-4 = 12 Sep 12:00 UTC
  16 Sep 05:00 UK BST = 16 Sep 04:00 UTC
  From 12 Sep 12:00 UTC to 16 Sep 04:00 UTC = 3 days 16 hours = 88 hours

The site's headline window, in hours: 48 hours
The gap between the headline and its own clock: 88 - 48 = 40 hours

So the same article claims a 48-hour window and a clock time that works
out to roughly 88 hours. Neither figure is HoYoverse's; the official post
gives no window at all. This page prints both and picks neither.

This is the reason a “how long do livestream codes last” answer is hard to trust from a guide: the two figures are not a rounding difference, they are off by almost two full days. A reader who takes the “48 hours” line at face value and waits a little too long will miss the window the same page described below it.

3. Three sites, three windows, for one livestream

The same batch of livestream codes is described with three different lifespans depending on which guide you open. None of them is quoting an official rule, because none exists. Each row below is the site's own words.

Site Window it states Its own words Status it puts the codes in
A large general games guide (its codes page) 48 hours (and, separately, a clock out to ~88h) “will only work for 48 hours (and are limited) before they expire” Lists them as expired now, with the expiry clock shown above
A PC-focused games magazine (its livestream codes article) within a day “these usually expire within a day” Treats them as a short-lived livestream drop
A portal reprint of that same magazine, an older version within a day or two “they usually expire within a day or two” Same article family, but a wider window
HoYoverse (official) no window published “will also ‘drop’ some redemption codes” — and nothing about expiry Publishes no per-code status and no expiry list

Read together: the “24 hours” intuition players repeat is not what the biggest guides even say. The numbers range from one day to two days to nearly four, and the only party that could settle it — HoYoverse — publishes nothing.

4. Search for “livestream codes” and you get five different versions

The pages that rank for this term are not all about the same version. Counting the ones we opened, the livestream guides on the first pages span five separate game versions at once. That is the real reason a specific answer is hard to pin down: half the results are for a stream that ended long ago.

Page opened Version its livestream content is on Note
A big multi-game tips site its headline still reads “September 2026” but the livestream section is a previous version Ranks well, content one version behind
A large games wiki current codes, but filed under “Inactive” Never uses the word “livestream” anywhere on the page
A smaller codes aggregator a much older version, updated February 2026 Still ranks despite being many versions stale
A gaming-tools blog post content last updated 25 May 2023 Several versions behind and still indexed
A community collection page a player-made collection dated 2024 A player-made collection, ranked alongside fresh guides

None of the above is named to shame it — each is simply what currently ranks for this term. The point is that “livestream codes” is not one answer: it is a term that mixes current drops, last year's drops and a player collection, which is exactly why a page that states its dates and sources is worth more here than one that just prints a list.
